My Grandfather was William Clifford who won the Bisley in 1911 and the Irish Cup, with the Ross rifle. I believe little is know about the pressure placed on him to resign from Hughes and Ross, due to his denouncing the Ross rifle. He therefor joined the Royal Flying Corp. latter to be shot down and never found. So in fact, the Ross rifle and the politic's that surrounded it, especially the millions that were made by Hughes and Ross, play a leading role in the death of my Grandfather. My name is David William Miller. I have donated the Ross rifles, the one presented by Sir Ross, and the other from Walker and Son's, to the Dominion Rifle Association. I am proud of my Grandfather deeds as a marksman, but more importantly, as a man, who by his actions saved thousand's of life's.
