Private Kennedy, a proud 20 year old Newfoundlander, was killed when the armored vehicle he was traveling in hit a roadside bomb. Kennedy was a member of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Canadian Regiment and, sadly, he perished with five other Canadian soldiers.
