Greeting fellow Royal canadians.

I joined The Royal Canadian Regiment during the summer of 1977 and was put through depot byt he fine men of 1 RCR, CFB London. Graduated Italy Platoon in September and joined the 1st and Finest in September. Bravo Company. Moved to Mortar platoon later in the fall then Pioneers for winter exercise period. Remained in Pioneers until 1979 wherein I joined Delta Company for the company's posting to 3RCR, CFB Baden Soellingen, West Germany. Delta Company became Mike Company on arrival and I spent the first year in Germany with 2 Platoon.

Promoted Mcpl spring 1980 and posted to Sigs Platoon as DCO's signaler. Promoted Sergeant, Spring, 1982, and posted to to Mortar Platoon. Returned to 1 RCR during the summer posting period and joined Mortar Platoon as 51Bravo, senior Mortar Fire Controller. Posted to Dukes in anticipation of deployment to Cyprus then, shortly prior to leaving, reassigned to BBC Company during the 1RCR's  Cyprus deployment in 1984-85. Popped a disc in back filling up an f'n jeep (LIFT WITH YOUR KNEES!)  and was subsequently air evacuated to Germany, then NDMC. Operation L4L5, not good. Worked in CFB London's WO&Sgts mess until medical remuster  to HELL! Medical release, after second back operation in Germany and a year at NDMC in 1992.

I am currently President, Niagara Branch, The RCR Association.

God bless our Regiment and those valiant men whom would serve in harms Way!

Pro Patria.
